Meet Katie Nava, Our Latest Stylist Spotlight at EISS

10.11.2021

Katie Nava, Co-Owner of Wild and Co in Whispering Pines, North Carolina, is our latest EISS Stylist Spotlight!

Why do you love what you do?

I love getting to do something different every day and giving someone their confidence back in their hair! It’s a very rewarding career.

Any advice for people looking to own a salon?

I work with two others, and we’re all the owners, so I have two people I can lean on for anything. I couldn’t have done it without them—Kerri Blue (@kerribluehair) and Nora Andrews (@wild_browbar).

What’s something you had to learn on your own about doing hair?

I’m learning as I go.

What are clients asking for in the chair?

I get a lot of lived-in, low-maintenance colors. A lot of clients come to me based on what I post on Instagram!

What color trends are you anticipating for 2022?

I have a lot more natural dimensional brunettes coming in.

What’s your favorite product from EISS?

I do a lot of blondes, so my go-to is a platinum 9.1 + 10.7 and a dash of 10.2. For brondes, I use 8.81. I think Keune Reds are the only reds that last. I use Copper 6.4 or 8.4.

What product is a best-seller in the salon?

Keune Care Keratin Smooth 2-Phase Spray—we have all our clients using that, and we use it in the chair, too.

If you could change your hair color for a day, what would you do?

I would go with a really fun copper-red.

Dream client (celebrity or otherwise)?

Sandra Bullock! I just love her!

Where do you find your inspiration?

Instagram and TikTok, mostly! @saramay_level10 is my inspiration. Her blondes are outstanding. I also love @maggiemh.

How do you like to spend your days off?

With my family! Relaxing, or catching up on my Cinderella chores. Haha

Favorite pick-me-up in the middle of a busy salon day?

Something chocolaty.

Lastly, where can we find your work?
